I own many flashguns, and various reflectors and therefore if I have them "available" in my bag and on my belt, if the right amount of flash is used to light up
the foreground and the background and the color is ok, are you happy with that? My clients book me because of the product I deliver, they don't want boring, they want the punch that challenges us to look further for that image.
There's not a right or a wrong, its about knowledge, intuition and training.
I love and use light to emote the image, now whether that's available light or artificial is my decision as a professional photographer and knowing what my clientele is expecting.
It has often been written that professional photographers who prefer to use available light do so because they have either never learned how to use artificial light or are lazy.
Noooooo, not true.
Blanket statements of this nature usually fail to acknowledge that shooting without additional lights might be a preference of style i.e. being unobtrusive as opposed to - see below;
A few images with supplemental light;
The power of photography is demonstrated by the skillful use of light.
Whether a photographer found it or brought it with him or her is immaterial.
Sometimes the flash use is very subtle.
Other times it's as subtle as the proverbial train crash.
We have the ability to control almost every aspect as in this shot taken in my studio, using window light, flash and reflectors.

Each to his or her own I say :)
